Confusion Reigns

This illustration was published in Issue 3 of QUTE Magazine in 2009, as a response to their brief on the theme of future. Confusion Reigns is an optical illusion that can only be read at a far enough distance away. Hold the illustration too close and all you can see is a collection of rain drops but if you read it for further away, a message becomes discernable through the train drops. This mirrors student’s fears about the future and the way that they will often focus too closely on the short-term future and not step back and look at the longer term big picture.
